On Friday, July 4, Debate House, in collaboration with the Athens Democracy Forum, organized one of the most significant political debates of the year, titled “Israel, Palestine, Iran, and a Europe That Is Rearming.” The event attracted more than 440 citizens to the Parnassos Literary Society, at a time when public political discussions are increasingly rare.
In the first part of the debate, political representatives from the three largest parliamentary groups took part: Angelos Syrigos from New Democracy, Dimitris Mantzos from PASOK – Movement for Change, and Nikos Farantouris from SYRIZA – Progressive Alliance. With candor and depth, they addressed the most pressing and complex questions concerning Greek foreign policy and the geopolitical developments in our region.
