A new form of political dialogue was introduced for the first time in Greece by the non-profit civil company DEBATE HOUSE, bringing together the voices of citizens with those of politicians through structured debates.

The aim of this initiative is to promote meaningful dialogue between society and the representatives of the political system, focusing on a mode of communication centered on the exchange of views under the rules of debate, with the discussion of important issues— as well as current affairs— as its core principle.

On the occasion of this initiative, on Thursday, October 17, 2024, the first debate was held on the topic of the U.S. elections in Greece. The event was hosted at THE DEMOS CENTER – ACG, following the structure and regulations of the British parliamentary system, placing emphasis on interaction between speakers and on the substance of the exchange.

The audience played an active role, as their agreements and disagreements with the speakers (Democrats and Republicans) created a “spark” in the room that kept the evening not only lively, but above all interactive, due to the nature of the topic.
